Shellcraft Labs builds commercial products. We run a real business. But FreeVoice is different — it comes from a place that isn't about business at all.

We have a family member who is nonverbal. We have lived the frustration of watching companies treat a child's ability to communicate as a revenue opportunity. We have seen the subscription renewal notices. We have felt the rage.

We had the skills to build an alternative. So we did. The cost of running FreeVoice is essentially zero — it's a web app hosted on GitHub Pages. There is no business model here. There is no catch. There is no "eventually we'll charge for it."

The code is MIT licensed. Any developer in the world can run their own copy. If Shellcraft Labs ever disappears, the app lives on. That's the point.
